So, I am working on a project right now that has been in the wurx for, um… quite some time. A little background: I am involved in a musical project that, let’s say, may or may not have had more difficulties than other rock bands. Difficulties including; bad schedules, nowhere to practice, noise ordinances, writer’s bloc, other musicians that didn’t quite “fit,” one basement fire, 2 basements with moisture infiltration–and of course–learning to deal with others’ subjective creative differences with temperance. In addition, a heart attack claimed the life of our friend, brother, and band mate, Adrian (Rest well, Maj).
The core members have written over 30 original rock compositions circa 2006. As of 2012, Meadowfire has welcomed additional 2 additional members this year. To us, it’s ALWAYS about the music, (every single note!), but right now we have awesome lyrics and songs that need to get out into the world, so the focus has been on getting shows and seeing which songs resonate with people.
Not only are we receiving a lot of praise for our music, which will be released and leaked on the internet soon, but regarding the art, and in terms of feedback I have received so far, people really like the logo. People have asked me about the design of the owl, and why I chose to represent it the way that I do. So I wanted to share with you the thought processes that went into the design.
